This role joins a newly formed team focused on novel collaborations with academic researchers and scientists across cognitive development, novel human computer interfaces, AI, and perceptual science.
Software Engineer Responsibilities:
Design core, desktop application and tools backend software components
Code using primarily C/C++, Python, and Javascript
Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
Conduct design and code reviews
Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
Establish self as an owner of a particular component, feature or system with deep end-to-end understanding
Demonstrated experience completing projects at large scope while maintaining a consistently high-level of productivity
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
3+ years of programming experience in a relevant programming language
3+ years relevant experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar experience
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Javascript, or Hack
Experience designing, analyzing and improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
Experience owning a component, feature or system
Experience building and shipping high quality work and achieving high reliability
Track record of taking direction from lead, driving to development targets and successful cross-functional communications
Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to architectural patterns of large scale software applications
Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java
Experience in development with Unity or Unreal game engines

$56.25/hour to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
