Position Overview


The Supply Chain Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting demand, analyzing inventory levels, and ensuring that the supply chain is optimized to meet customer needs while minimizing costs. This role requires cross-functional collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and a focus on process improvement.



Responsibilities


  • Demand Forecasting
    • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and sales inputs.
    • Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to align demand plans with business goals.
    • Utilize advanced analytics tools to improve forecast accuracy

  • Inventory Management
    • Monitor inventory levels and ensure they align with the demand forecast.
    • Establish optimal safety stock levels to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
    • Identify slow-moving and excess inventory and propose action plans to reduce costs.

  • Supply Chain Optimization
    • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to meet demand efficiently.
    • Identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and recommend solutions.
    • Support new product introductions and end-of-life planning with accurate forecasts.

  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve supply issues.
    • Serve as the key liaison between Sales, Operations, and Procurement teams for demand planning.
    • Provide regular updates and insights to the Supply Chain Team through dashboards and reports.
    • Lead the Supplier Portal Project through implementation.

  • Process Improvement
    • Continuously evaluate demand planning processes and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Leverage technology, such as demand planning software, to streamline forecasting activities.

  • Reporting and Analytics
    • Prepare and distribute reports on forecast accuracy, inventory metrics, and supply chain performance.
    • Use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and communicate performance trends.

  • Forecast Accuracy
    • Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) target: =10% variance.
    • Forecast Bias target: =5% deviation.

  • Inventory Metrics
    • Inventory Turnover Ratio: Target >5 turns/year.
    • Days of Inventory on Hand (DOH): Target range 30-45 days.
    • Stockout Rate: =2%.

  • Operational Efficiency
    • On-Time Delivery (OTD) Rate: =95%.
    • Supplier Lead Time Adherence: =90%.
    • Reduction in Excess and Obsolete Inventory: Annual target =10%.

  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Stakeholder Satisfaction Score: =85% positive feedback.
    • Timely Updates to Stakeholders: Within 1 day of significant forecast changes.

  • Process Improvement
    • Number of Process Improvements Implemented: =2 annually.
    • Reduction in Planning Cycle Time: =10% annual improvement.

Qualifications


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Experience: 3+ years in demand planning or supply chain roles a plus. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and demand planning software is preferred.

  • Skills:
    • Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
    • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
