Finance & Personnel Specialist



Performs more advanced administrative assistant support work (i.e. manages calendar, schedules meetings, prepares reports, makes minor purchases, presentation material, updates content on department website, etc.). Role primarily performs administrative support activities but also performs department specific technical or operations duties. Performs routine and moderately complex human resource operations involving the recruitment, hiring, and retention as well as the preparation of journal entries, reports, and budget analyses. Assists in budgetary development functions. Serves as a primary contact for a variety of matters and intermediate-level issues regarding human resources and finance matters. Serves as the primary support to senior and executive level roles; coordinates with associated teams. Manages office workflow, projects, and schedules; serves as primary liaison between internal and external stakeholders. Develops agendas and meeting materials; coordinates special events.


Job Summary

Physical Effort

Position is generally sedentary, but sometimes physically uncomfortable; frequently requires maintaining a sitting posture, stooping, or bending, some very light lifting, such as one or two reams of paper, may be required. Also walking around campus and the Oakland area.
