Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach departmental offerings in American Government with expertise in American Politics and Public Policy and/or Public Administration. The successful candidate must be able to teach introductory classes in American Government and upper-division offerings to include Congress, the Presidency, Public Opinion, and the Media. The incumbent should be prepared to teach one semester of research methods for majors each year. The person who fills the position will primarily advise and support students pursuing degrees in the Law & Public Policy Major and Minor, including supervising internships and mentoring undergraduate research.
The successful candidate for this position is also expected to contribute one course per year to the college's innovative interdisciplinary foundational studies program. The total teaching expectation for the position is 21 semester hours per year.
Qualifications:
A PhD in Political Science from an accredited college or university is required. Candidates who are ABD and within a year of completion will be considered at the rank of Instructor and will be promoted to Assistant Professor once the PhD is complete.
