Description:

Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, this position provides leadership for the day-to-day operations, staffing, marketing, and merchandising of the assigned store. He/she ensures that the high standards of the PEARL iZUMi Brand are always maintained throughout the operation. The Store Manager I, is responsible for driving traffic to the store, as well as providing an environment where team members offer outstanding customer service to every customer who walks into our store. This person will work directly with store team members and home office team to achieve store goals. This position works closely with the Retail Operations Manager to ensure all needs at the store are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

People Development

  • Hire, train, supervise and develop all staff within the store to offer the best customer service in the industry.
  • Establish store sales standards, including conversion rate, Items Per Transaction (IPT’s), Average Dollars per Sale (ADS), email capture, etc.
  • Motivate staff to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
  • Establish an environment where all team members can share and exchange ideas and opinions.
  • Create an environment of respectful, honest, and direct communication with all staff.
  • Direct regular training clinics on product knowledge, sales presentation, and POS operations.
  • Teach and train all staff on security and loss prevention techniques.
  • Conduct team member performance reviews; set goals and coach employees (proactively when possible).
  • Acts as a positive role model for the store team as well as the local community.

Customer Service

  • Ensure the team is focused on building a customer-for-life with every store visit.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of PEARL iZUMi products, shares with team members and seeks training and support when needed.
  • Honors our lifetime warranty and makes the greatest effort to enhance the customers perception of the PEARL iZUMi brand even when they are returning the product - make it simple for the customer.

Store Operations

  • Creates staffing schedule to meet customer traffic and peak periods.
  • Review/approve timesheets regularly, ensuring accurate time records. Ensure all approvals are complete prior to the established deadline.
  • Orders the appropriate merchandise assortment to meet local demand and liquidates slower moving products as quickly and profitably as possible.
  • Receives all merchandise into the RPro system and operates POS to maintain inventory accuracy. Regularly audits inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Manages and achieves all store budgets, including all sales and expenses.
  • Ensures daily bank deposits are prepared and performed according to procedure.
  • Responsible for Loss Prevention within the store.
  • Completes all required weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Review and analyze the monthly P&L statement with direct supervisor.
  • Performs and ensures all store functions, including sales, daily opening and closing are completed satisfactorily.

Visual & Merchandising

  • Maintains corporate visual and merchandising standards.
  • Creates a customer friendly environment that projects the PEARL iZUMi Brand consistently and grows consumer demand for our products.
  • Ensures all signing and merchandising represents the PEARL iZUMi Brand as the premier cycling and active athletic brand.
  • Eliminates anything that visually detracts from the PEARL iZUMi brand in the store.
  • Reviews and advises the Retail Operations Manager on display or merchandising opportunities.

Marketing

  • Develops annual marketing plan in conjunction with Retail Operations Manager to identify grass roots efforts to grow the business while maintaining great relations with PI dealer base (i.e. off-site events, club programs, gym customers, police & fire departments, etc.)
  • Creatively find ways in the community to grow customer traffic.
  • Represents our brand consistently in all communications. Every communication should flawlessly represent our brand image.

POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Typical work hours vary based on scheduling but will consist of a 30-40 hour/week schedule.
  • This position is based at the retail store location (no remote work).
  • Travel is minimal but may occur with grassroots marketing events.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

  • The Company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
  • The hourly range for this role in Castel Rock, CO is $29.00 -$34.00.
  • In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including health & wellness benefits, retirement, time off, employee discounts, and others.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for quarterly reviews of direct reports, establishing performance objectives for team members.
  • Recruit, train, lead, develop, evaluate, and retain direct and indirect labor associated with stores.
  • Recommend and assist with employee development programs. Ensure performance objectives are outlined and completed thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Work with Human Resources for coaching, counseling, and corrective actions.


Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ relevant experience in a retail environment.
  • Minimum 1 year’s leadership experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak periods on a regular basis required.
  • Sales, customer service, supervisory skills training required.
  • Knowledge of or experience in the cycling and/or running industry required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Candidate must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with ability to: sit/; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
