POSITION SUMMARY

This high impact resource will lead national and regional efforts focused on Competitive Unit Cost analysis and reporting in support of the Network Management and Affordability Provider Contracting organization, and their efforts to improve Affordability, and in support of Pricing and to enable Client and Customer Retention and Growth.

This individual is responsible for managing decisions on methodology and approach and working with regional and national matrix partners to ensure competitive discount and unit cost information is accurately portrayed internally and externally. This position will also manage existing sources of competitive unit cost information, as well as, efforts to identify new sources of competitive unit cost information, evaluate that information and incorporate it into processes to leverage all competitive sources of information. This resource will manage the creation of standard reporting for the market, region and national reporting to display competitive position. This position is responsible for working in a highly matrixed organization in a collaborative manner and exhibiting behaviors, attitudes and actions that demonstrate a high level of teamwork.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Own the management for review and analysis of competitive unit cost information for discount benchmarking, existing and new sources of competitive unit cost information.

  • Partner with the Consulting and Sales & Consultant Analytics team in working with Consulting houses on discount submissions and benchmark reporting review. Responsible for informing the external view of Cigna's competitive unit cost position.

  • Validate internal roll-ups of discount information inclusive of projected trends and ensure accurate representation of information to internal and external customers.

  • Drive the identification, evaluation and incorporation of new sources of competitive unit cost information.

  • Own the management of COB process including evaluation and assessment of COB analytics.

  • Coordinate with Pricing, Network Analytics and Affordability Goals and Outcomes to ensure consistent and accurate methodology across functional areas.

  • Partner with AMP Product Development Agile leadership in the creation of tools to accurately convey competitive insights as the business owner of competitive unit cost information.

  • Work with matrix management on escalated issues and issue resolution. Remove barriers to ensure escalations are handled timely and accurately.

  • Drive innovation, automation and leveraging of technology to increase capacity, quality and efficiency

  • Manage the creation of standard trainings for new hires and existing resources

  • Manage the creation of documentation for all tools processes and reporting

  • Special projects, as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelors Degree required; MBA or Masters Degree in HealthCare Administration or health-related field preferred

  • 5+ years in a Management role in managed care. Strong management experience and team motivational skills.

  • Experience working with Pricing, Network Analytics, Consulting and Sales Analytics, Affordability Goals and Outcomes, Underwriting, Sales and Contracting.

  • Demonstrated strong project management skill. Ability to own driving a project end to end overcoming challenges.

  • Functional expertise: Contracting, Negotiating, Provider Services, Financial Analysis, Project Management, Data Modeling, Database Management

  • Demonstrated ability to work at both the conceptual and very detailed levels and easily shifts between the two.

  • Must be able to build trusting and effective relationships with internal and external constituents and leverage for the good of the company.

  • Demonstrated track record of good decision skills with highly complex situations based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; most of his/her solutions and suggestions turn out to be correct and accurate when judged over time; sought out by others for advice and solutions. Takes quick, decisive, informed action on issues or problems judged as critical.

  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated proficiency to research, trouble shoot and problem solve issues across organizations without sacrificing quality of service.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with demonstrated ability to influence internal and external resources.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience working in an empowered team environment.

  • Software Skills: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, SAS and other relevant software applications.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 127,900 - 213,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
