SUMMARY
The Treasury Associate will play a critical role in managing and analyzing various aspects of sales and use tax compliance and reporting. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle multiple tasks, provide accurate financial information, and ensure compliance with state laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-state tax compliance, general accounting skills, and proficiency in using tax software and ERP systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare, analyze and file Sales and Use tax returns. File and pay electronically where availableCompile state sales & use tax data from AvalaraHandle requests for sales & use tax information including applicable taxability and rate determinationsCompile legal entity sales by state reports quarterly to monitor nexus requirementsCompile documentation for sales & use tax audits and correspond with state and local tax auditors as requiredAssist in preparing documents for property tax renditions and payment requestsReconcile general ledger state sales & use tax accounts. Prepare and post all adjusting and accruing sales tax journal entries SL and NSWork with Consultant groups to maintain compliance with State Laws and RegulationsUpdate Sales Tax Payable BS ReconApply customer payments and deposit via credit cards, checks, and ACHAccrue for Unbilled Transactions and reconcile revenue SL to USP RSIRecord Depreciation in SL RSIReconcile Intercompany transactions relating to Sales Taxes PaymentsReview USP for unclosed tickets

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experienceWorking knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointStrong general accounting skillsGood organizational and time management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multi-taskWorks well both independently and in a team environment

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE:

Associates degree or equivalent work experience required. Bachelors degree in accounting preferredMinimum 5-8 years of multi-state sales/use tax and property tax experience requiredProficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; strong attention to detail and accuracy in reportingEnterprise Resource Planning system experience required. NetsSuite preferredExperience with Avalara tax softwareDemonstrated ability to work independently and meet required deadlinesGood interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
