Position summary:
The Moldmaker-Repair/Maintenance will support the Molding business unit and be responsible for repairing a wide variety of highly intricate and complicated tools, meeting extremely close tolerances. Performing highly skilled fitting, adjusting, and timing.
Responsibilities
Injection mold maintenance and repair
Toolroom machinist background with lathes, mills, surface grinders, etc.
Accurately records and documents tool repairs in asset management software
Identify improvement possibilities for tool development
Read and comply with work instructions and checklists
Accurately record and report hours worked
Adhere to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required
Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
Participate in required company meetings
Maintain an organized work area (5S)
Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
Complete all other work duties as assigned
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications
2 years of technical/trade school
5+ years of bench experience
Advance knowledge of plastic injection mold fit/form/function to include hot runner systems, sensors, servo motor and hydraulic integration.
Understanding of quality procedures
Ability to read prints
Knowledge of CAD software
Prior work experience operating grinding equipment, manual mills and lathes, CNC mills, EDM, etc
Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of engineering and tool design required
Strong interpersonal, communication, relationship building and coaching skills
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of progressive experience in injection molding operations
Working knowledge of CAD, GD&T, blueprint reading, precision measurement instruments
SolidWorks experience
Prior work experience with medical contract manufacturers or suppliers with exposure to PPAP, APQP and ISO 13485
