Position Overview
The Project Manager - Financial Applications is a self-directed team leader that manages the more complex and technical projects within the PMO, ensuring successful execution. The ideal candidate demonstrates robust knowledge of PM principles, excellent communication skills both written and oral, and flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the business.
This role will work with our Financial Applications Delivery team and report to our Atlanta Corporate office in a hybrid capacity.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Plan, schedule and track project timelines, resources, milestones and deliverables using program/project management tools and best practices.
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Develop and manage full-scale project plans and associated communications documents for all assigned projects.
Set, communicate and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders in a timely, clear and concise manner.
Conduct project closing and create lessons learned documentation identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path issues/risks.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, schedule, resources and budget.
Identify any issues/risks to program/project success and develop mitigation plans to manage them throughout the project life cycle.
Coordinate the efforts of all project team members and contractors, influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Coordinate with IT Product Management to ensure that all program/project deliverables align with and support the strategic business goals of the applicable products.
Build, develop, and grow business relationships vital to the success of the program and any related projects.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Minimum of 5 years of IT program/project management experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent technical Degree preferred
Experience working in complex, distributed business preferred
Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
CSM - Certified Scrum Master preferred
Six Sigma, Lean or other TQM certification a plus
PC skills and hands-on experience building tools and presentations with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Work Requirements
Must be 18 years in age or older.

Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
Available to travel up to 20%

Coordinate with Business Owners to ensure deliverables align with strategic business goals
Ability to consistently drive self and others to achieve results despite obstacles and setbacks.
Strong familiarity with project management software, such as SPM, Clarizen, Microsoft Project, etc.
Must possess strong oral / written communication and listening skills.
Ability to achieve results with a hands-on, collaborative approach; works well in a team.
Proficient in encouraging diverse thinking to promote and nurture innovation.
Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills a must.
Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner.
Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication.
Strong understanding of different software development life cycles (waterfall, agile), program/project management processes, and automated tools.
Must have experience in managing and working with distributed team members.
Flexible in conforming to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
