To provide support to production teams through various offline projects that are directed to add value to the manufacturing activities at Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. We are looking for a Production Support Machinist to join our Molding/Finishing team in our manufacturing site in Ave Maria, FL. This position is on a rotating crew schedule from 4:00PM to 2:30AM, 4 days/10-hour shifts between Monday through Saturday. If hired for this position, you will be eligible for a $750.00 sign-on bonus (minus appropriate tax withholdings). You will be paid the $750.00 during your first pay period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Build, repair, and develop production fixturing and/or custom tooling to support on-going production.

  • Participate in and provide assistance with manufacturing floor process improvement projects. (For example: 5S, Lean Manufacturing Initiatives, etc.)

  • As required, develop fixturing and tooling documentation including engineering models and drawings to be submitted for proper approvals.

  • Participate in and provide assistance with the development of standardized work practices.

  • Develop and write CNC programs for non-production components to support manufacturing. (For example: fixturing and tooling.)

  • Demonstrates responsibility for the safeguard of all company equipment and working tools.

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.

  • Experienced in the setup and operation of CNC and conventional milling machines, lathes, grinders, EDM, and welding equipment, etc.

  • Loads control media such as card or disk in machine controller or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions.

  • Calculates and sets machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate factors, such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment with regard to assigned tasks.

  • Ability to inspect work pieces using various types of precision measuring instruments and equipment.

  • Collaborate with various functional groups to solve manufacturing problems.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned or required by the manufacturing supervisor.

Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • 10+ years directly related training and/or experience of machine operating required

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Full working knowledge of machining properties of common metals and alloys. Good mechanical aptitude. Full working knowledge of advanced CNC programming skills. Advanced blue print interpretation skills. Proficient with precision measuring equipment and instruments. Advanced knowledge of tooling and fixturing. Ability to develop fixturing and tooling to support manufacturing processes. Demonstrates good housekeeping practices.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Intermediate to advanced machining skills. Familiarity with CNC and conventional machine shop equipment.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
