Contribute SME to the strategy and roadmap for automating clinical content for Optum solutions and EHR interoperability.
Inform tool requirements for efficient and effective content management and versioning.
Interoperability Standards (30%)
Compare and critique standards-based approaches to interoperability issues.
Educate and implement changes to content curation for machine-ready content.
Analyze workflows related to health data capture, retrieval, and analysis.
Develop content models to better represent clinical information.
Collaboration (10%)
Collaborate with Product Development (PD), Product Management (PM), Product Owner (PO), and Business Systems Analyst (BSA) as needed.
Project Management (5%)
Participate in developing project plans, monitoring tasks, and ensuring on-time delivery of clinical development projects.
Research and Development (5%)
Participate in industry and client research contributing to product advancement as needed.
Role Overview:
This role addresses the transition from human-readable to machine-ready content sources, developing models for efficient deployment into Optum solutions. It requires deep knowledge of structured and unstructured EHR data, evolving standards, and the creativity to maintain human-readable formats true to content sources and evidence-based medicine. The process is dynamic and requires constant tuning to achieve business goals.
The consultant will inform and develop new content development processes to produce efficient and effective EHR interoperable content, fundamentally changing existing processes while maintaining content integrity. This position has authority over codification and mapping approaches to maximize EHR interoperability and will make recommendations to product and engineering teams to improve content curation and end-use applications.
Experience: Working with major EHR vendor data (e.g., Cerner CDA/JSON structure, Epic CDA structure).

Educational Requirements:
Licensed Healthcare Professional (e.g., RN, NP, PA, PT, OT, SLP, Psychologist, LICSW, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharm D) with an active license in good standing.
Experience Requirements:
Experience in creating value sets.
Minimum 7 years of experience in clinical informatics and terminology standards (including SNOMED CT, LOINC, and RxNorm) in healthcare.
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
Experience working with major EHR vendor data (e.g., Cerner CDA/JSON structure, Epic CDA structure).
Knowledge of code systems: LOINC, CPT, ICD-10, NDC, SNOMED CT.
