Description: Computer World Services Corporation (CWS) is seeking an Associate Proposal Writer to Join the Business Development team. In this role, you will work with a small team of proposal professionals, including Capture Managers, Solution Architects, Program Managers, Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Recruiters, and Executive Staff to craft compelling and compliant content for Federal customers. You will report directly to the Proposal Manager.

You will be provided with a 3-week boot camp led by your Proposal Manager, where your management team will introduce you to Federal Proposals, Proposal Best Practices, and the CWS Proposal process. After this boot camp, you will research and write proposal sections, such as the past performance, and resume sections. You will also support the development of marketing materials, including Requests for Information (RFI) and Sources Sought.

To be successful, you must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities while maintaining keen attention to detail. This role is an Associate Proposal Writer position, with an established growth plan that includes quantified and defined benchmarks over the course of the candidate's first year. The objective of this position will be to develop and grow this candidate by meeting and/or exceeding these benchmarks, into a Senior Proposal Writer, and eventually a Proposal Coordinator.

Primary Responsibilities (Associate Level):


  • Work with Solution Architects and SMEs to understand all aspects of Information Technology (IT) or service solutions and write, clear, compliant, persuasive, proposal sections (past performance, corporate experience, resumes, etc.). This includes documenting, writing, and articulating solutions and corporate experience against proposal requirements.

  • Apply research and interviewing skills to gather needed information from internal and external personnel to support writing activities.

  • Work as part of a collaborative team to clearly articulate solutions and strategy, approach to performing the work, win themes, and discriminators, and translate complex ideas into easily understandable text.

  • Effectively communicate with other proposal staff (e.g., editing, desktop publishing, production, graphics, etc.) to coordinate all areas of a proposal effort.

  • Participate in color reviews and assist with addressing all actionable comments and recommendations from the review teams.



Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Evidence of responsive, and persuasive writing.

  • A passion for writing and a desire to learn and improve one’s craft, with the understanding feedback is immediate and often.

  • Attention to detail, ability to edit for consistency across multiple authors and proficiency with proofreading for grammatical errors.

  • Ability to conform to and proofread for consistency with style guides, templates, and requirements.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills within a professional environment.

  • Excellent organizational and time management and task prioritization skills.

  • Good judgment in decision-making.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong work ethic and desire to excel and keep growing over time.

  • Adherence to respect, decorum, professionalism, and teamwork always.

  • Excellent reading comprehension and experience with reading and summarizing complex documents, including contractual and legal documents.

  • Excellent analytical skills with experience analyzing complex documents to identify issues and inconsistencies.

  • A strong command of the English language with proficiency in grammar, flow, clarity, tone, and voice.
