Job Description: The company is seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in public works projects and a proven track record of successfully managing hard bids. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead a team of 5-6 estimators and work closely with the president of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the estimating team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for public works projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Analyze project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.
Report directly to the president, providing regular updates on bid status and team performance.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in public works estimating.
Proven ability to manage and lead a team of estimators.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
