Job Description:





This position sits within the Development Community Advisory - Public Sector Compensation team and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing team while delivering industry-focused compensation services to public sector clients. The Compensation Analyst will assist in analyzing, developing, and implementing public sector compensation strategies in support of client projects.



Key Responsibilities:




Classification & Compensation Project Support



  • Assist with job analysis, title review, career ladders/leveling, FLSA review, and job evaluation processes.

  • Conduct market assessments of base pay, pay policies, and benefits data.

  • Support the development or revision of pay structures, including grade assignments.

  • Assist with the preparation of implementation cost analyses.

  • Collaborate with senior team members and clients to support the development of compensation philosophies and strategies.




Project Management Support



  • Analyze existing compensation plans to identify areas for improvement.

  • Monitor project timelines and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.

  • Support the preparation and presentation of project results to clients, including elected officials.




Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, human resources management, business administration, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in consulting, data analytics, compensation, human resources, or a related field; local government experience is preferred.

  • Proficiency in intermediate Excel functions, such as pivot tables, XLOOKUP, date functions, conditional formatting, formulas, charts/graphs, and regression analysis.

  • Foundational knowledge of compensation topics, such as job matching and market pricing, job evaluation, pay structures, and compensation regulations.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

  • Public presentation and facilitation skills are a plus.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including occasional night meetings to attend City Council or County Board meetings, as necessary.
