The Annual Giving Officer plans and implements tactics to secure and steward annual donations to support the Shepherd Center's mission, provide funding for unreimbursed, donor-funded patient programs, and works collaboratively with all members of the Advancement Team to develop and execute donor acquisition and renewal strategies. The Annual Giving Officer is responsible for creating the Foundation's direct mail and digital solicitation strategy and managing annual giving for the organization. This position will play a key role in promoting Shepherd Center's mission and expanding our outreach through strategic fundraising initiatives, creative marketing campaigns, and community engagement efforts.


The Annual Giving Officer manages a portfolio of annual donors to maintain and grow a portfolio of individual, corporate and foundation donors and donor prospects, with a particular focus on cultivating, securing and stewarding annual gifts up to $2,500. This position reports to the Associate Director of Sustained Giving.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Plan and implement Foundation's Digital and Multi-channel fundraising efforts including direct mail, email campaigns, Social Media Campaigns, etc.

  • Secure new, renewed, or increased funding from individuals through online giving, direct mail and digital campaigns, special events, and direct proposals.

  • Plan and execute steps for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for annual donors.

  • Work with Associate Director of Sustained Giving to establish revenue goals and KPIs for fiscal year.

  • Collaborate with Development & Advancement team to establish benchmarks and regular reporting processes to measure results of all annual fund activities.

  • Manage a portfolio of donors, cultivate relationships, and steward their support.

  • Identify and qualify potential donors to expand the donor base.

  • Track donor information, record donor visits, appeals, actions and updates to the annual giving database.

  • Track fundraising performance and provide reports on annual giving performance and ROI.

  • Stay informed of latest trends and developments in Direct, Digital, and Multi-channel fundraising and develop appropriate strategies and tactics.

  • Organize and execute special projects that support the greater Sustained Giving Team.

  • Connect the mission and vision of Shepherd Center to diverse audiences through group presentations and individual meetings.

  • Provides support to Associate Director of Sustained Giving and cross support to co-workers.

  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality of patient population, donor information and prospect research.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to sustain and grow knowledge of philanthropic trends and expertise.

  • Complete all Shepherd Center core competencies and job specific competencies as specified in the employee's Skills Checklist.

  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • Three years of experience working in non-profit development, or marketing and communications, including prospect research and cultivation, data analysis and project management.

  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information preferred.


REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILLS

  • Proficiency in prioritizing tasks; ability to think strategically; ability to communicate effectively, including interpersonal and written communication, active listening and presenting in varying audiences; project and time management skills; strong attention to detail.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, and Raiser's Edge or similar CRM.

  • Knowledge of other routine office equipment.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time or exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal office environment with frequent interruptions. Occasional evening and weekend hours.
