The Sr. Maintenance Engineer oversees planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to ensure maintenance activities and project completion are within budget and according to schedule. Job duties include support of manufacturing programs, provide guidance for continuous improvements for OEE, upholding project standards by researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans and adjusting specifications for elements of a project. This position is not remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyzes engineering drawings and support documentation for maintenance and engineering departments
Assists in problem solving related to assigned programs.
Performs a variety of routine maintenance engineering tasks that are planned to provide experience and familiarization with the manufacturing staff and AFC programs methods and practices.
Exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
With continuing development and experience, will receive unusual or difficult problems that require selection of techniques or procedures to be applied to non-routine work.
Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.
Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates.
Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains project data base by writing computer programs, entering and backing up data.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Education
Bachelor's or Master of Science in Engineering or other related discipline required
Experience
5+ years of project experience, preferably in manufacturing
Skills
General knowledge of construction/design principles and practices, including estimating and scheduling.
General knowledge for maintenance as applied to assigned responsibilities.
Physical skill and ability to inspect working environments.
Knowledge of building codes and blueprint interpretation.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Basic knowledge of government regulations regarding facilities and contractual agreements.
Design and documentation skills for continuous improvement
Manufacturing methods and procedures for technical understanding
