Overview
Primarily responsible for assisting with the accounting processes used for inventory accounts as designed and maintaining the ledger accounts used to develop financial statements and reports. Must have a strong accounting background accounting for inventory at a mid-to-large distribution or manufacturing company, and be knowledgeable in accounting systems and the general ledger. Perform financial projects as needed.

Responsibilities
Organizational Impact:
At Sarnova, the Accounting team provides essential support to every facet of the business each day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare financial account reconciliations, record journal entries in the Company’s ERP system, and maintain appropriate documentation for all transactions
Participate in month-end close process and prepare journal entries as needed
Research transactions and ledger posting errors. This includes communication to warehouse locations to resolve the errors
Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory
Monitoring inventory transactions
Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger
Provide assistance to business units within the company with inventory transactions
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
Miscellaneous projects as assigned
Skills/Experience Required:
3-5 years’ experience as an Inventory Staff Accountant and/or general ledger accounting
Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and general-ledger account analysis and reconciliation
Experience in accounting for distribution business or billing services business preferred
Problem solving abilities and organizational skills
Experience in an integrated accounting ERP system, preferably Microsoft Great Plains and Microsoft D365
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must be able to work independently
Must be detail oriented and organized
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Must be able to work on many different projects at one time.
