A Day in the Life

In this exciting role as a Neurovascular District Manager you will have responsibility to lead and develop Associate Territory Managers, Territory Managers, and Clinical Specialists within their assigned district a nd achieving Neurovascular sales objectives for that district, while representing Medtronic in accordance with Company policies and AdvaMed guidelines. District Managers hire, develop, and review sales performance with their Associate Territory Manager, Territory Managers, and Clinical Specialists in their sales territories on a regular basis. The District Manager is expected to demonstrate High Performance Practices and key District Manager competencies as they meet and exceed objectives for this role.

This is a field based position.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Promotes and sells Medtronic's Neurovascular products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Oversee consistent quota achievement of each TM within the District quarterly.

  • Work with Representatives regularly to formulate, monitor and improve selling plans and all sales-related activities, in alignment with the strategic imperatives of the business.

  • Lead execution of new product sales in district and act as a field resource to the Marketing Department during product development, new product introductions and evaluations.

  • Create and execute on strategic objectives for District.

  • Align with Sales Leaders (RSDs) to prioritize TMs' time and focus on key opportunities and focus and assist ATMs and CSs on most significant growth opportunities.

  • Assist TM in establishing relationships and creating environment to grow and defend existing sales.

  • Attend quarterly planning calls with Sales Leaders and Representatives. Plan / coordinate other appropriate district sales meetings.

  • Report facility-level information impacting account targets to Sales Leaders (e.g. new opportunities, changes in procedure mix, etc.)

  • Interview, hire and develop the regional sales and clinical team

  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including distributors, surgeons, nurses, and key opinion leaders.

  • Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's Neurovascular products and/or services.

  • Provides clinical and technical support during cases and informs the clinician of patient treatment options.

  • Promotes education of the company's products and/or services.

  • Conducts and/or evaluates market research including customers and competitors activities.

  • Develops and/or implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed.

  • Assesses customer needs and feedback regarding new products and/or modifications to existing products and communicates to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations and Marketing.

  • Establishes effective relationships and collaborates with other departments (Marketing, Finance, HR, Sales Training, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities.

  • Attend required national trade shows; attend and staff local trade shows within the district as deemed appropriate. Coordinate as necessary with the Marketing Department

  • Administer company policies and procedures to Representatives in the district. Ensure compliance with The Medtronic Guide to Business Conduct, Good Manufacturing Practices, and safety policies. Promote Total Quality Management and foster a "teaming" environment.

  • Perform all other duties as required by the RSD and the V.P. of Sales.

Qualifications

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.


  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience; or

  • Advanced Degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant sales and leadership experience.

Nice to Have


  • 10+ years of Medical Device experience with 5 years of Neurovascular or Neurosurgery.

  • Experience in medical sales, preferably focused on interventional procedures

  • 3+ years of Sales Management experience. Leading teams in a complex work environment. e.g.: Medical sales marketing or hospital service line functions, demonstrating ability to direct and influence sales or procedure volume growth.

  • Preferable clinical experience in the interventional suite, hospital environment, or emergency medical response

  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively and in front of large audiences

  • Strategic and analytical thinker

  • Ability to adapt and change within dynamic corporate and business environment

Physical Job Requirements


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.

  • The employee is also required to interact with a computer for extended periods of time, and communicate with peers and co-workers.

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds

  • Must be able to hear, see and speak fluently

  • Must be able to sit, stand 8 hours/day

  • Must be able to wear lead apron for long periods of time (2-3hrs on average)

  • Must be able to operate a moving vehicle

  • Must be able to work in OR and/or Hospital Labs with radiation exposure

  • Must be able to conduct company business outside of the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, work-schedule

Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy. In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application. Must be able to drive approximately 50% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):170,000-170,000

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.
