Basic Job Functions:
The Maintenance & Engineering Manager's chief responsibility is to deliver on our commitment to become the world's safest steel company by providing innovative solutions and artificial intelligence solutions for our team. The successful candidate will be required to provide structure and process controls around capital expenditure justifications and routinely evaluate the return on capital investments. The candidate must also understand the reliability metrics for each department, to achieve the operational performance necessary to meet commercial objectives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: establishing a clear vision and strategy that will allow the teams to execute and meet all objectives in safety, quality, costs, productivity, profitability, environmental, and talent development; plus establishing a reliability strategy that includes preventative, predictive, and condition-based approaches that optimize safety and operational performance. Some travel is required.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Finance or equivalent experience
• At least five years leadership experience
• Manufacturing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Three + years of department manager experience
• Leadership experience with preventative and predictive maintenance and artificial intelligence.
• Steel industry experience
