Nemours Children's Health seeks a dynamic, distinguished physician executive to serve as its next Chair of Pediatrics. The Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville will build upon the history of exceptional performance that exists in Pediatrics across the Nemours enterprise including Wolfson Children's Hospital. The incoming leader will have the opportunity to develop a national reputation for Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville and elevate the pediatric program to visionary level in alignment with Nemours' Mission. This leader, in collaboration with our strategic clinical and academic partners, will develop and guide a team with the goal of becoming a department with nationally prominence that stands as a recognized leader in pediatric clinical care, education, and research.
The successful candidate will have a reputation as an outstanding clinician, experience working in an integrated pediatric clinical program, have a passion for academic medicine and demonstrated business and financial acumen. S/he will be an individual who has a commitment to providing outstanding care, driving high quality and safety and a desire to improve systems and processes to maximize efficiency. The Chair will engage faculty to provide an environment conducive to expanding research, education, advocacy, faculty wellness and engagement, and developing others.
Key Responsibilities
The Chair will work in partnership to develop the vision and strategic direction for the Department of Pediatrics in its clinical, academic, and research missions that are aligned with the overall mission and values of Nemours. Assist in increasing the spectrum of clinical care and divisions that we offer.
In addition to leading, developing, and supporting the department's faculty members in carrying out their responsibilities, this individual will be instrumental in growing the department's clinical, academic and research scope, collaboratively across the campus and with Nemours' partner hospitals to oversee and advance inpatient care, outpatient services, and clinical care across all campuses.
The Chair will expand the scholarly activities of the department through excellent training programs, clinical research and volume growth of NCH and ambulatory practices, while sustaining and building national scholarly academic recognition, clinical expertise, and research programs in pediatrics to support the academic mission of Nemours to improve the health of children.
The Chair will lead as a role model for the faculty as an outstanding individual with the highest level of integrity, serve as an ambassador to the community and strengthen and grow the academic and educational relationship between the academic partners affiliated with Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville through shared clinical programming, academic initiatives, and educational opportunities.

Qualifications
Board Certification in Pediatrics or respective subspecialty
Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida.
A preferred minimum of five years demonstrated leadership achievement in a high-performing, pediatric department.
Progressive administrative leadership experience in an academic medical center environment and Department of Pediatrics.
Record of accomplishment for developing and maturing a research infrastructure.
Excellent administrative experience and financial acumen.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment for transparency, effective problem resolution, collaboration, accountability, and ethical decision-making.
