Position Summary


Our Global Credit segment is a multi-product, markets-focused investment platform. Established in 1999 with our first high yield fund, Global Credit currently operates 134 active vehicles across its four business segments, Liquid Credit, Private Credit, Real Assets Credit, and Asset-Backed Finance. As of June 30, 2024, Carlyle's Global Credit platform has over 200 investment professionals and over $190 billion in AUM.


Carlyle's Direct Lending strategy primarily operates in the core middle market, focusing on originating senior secured term loans to U.S. middle market companies backed by financial sponsors, and complements these core exposures with select specialty lending capabilities. As of June 30, 2024, Carlyle's Direct Lending strategy has approximately $10.1 billion of assets under management primarily across three business development companies ("BDC's"), an evergreen open-ended private fund (Carlyle Direct Lending Fund), as well as a variety of rated structures and separately managed accounts.


Carlyle seeks to hire a Associate on our Direct Lending Credit team, supporting all investment activities across Direct Lending.


The Associate will serve as a key member of a deal team in the underwriting, credit approval and portfolio management processes for transactions, including initial screening of deals, structuring, proposal issuance, detailed due diligence, formal credit approval, negotiation of documentation and closing. The Senior Associate will have primary responsibility for industry analysis and financial modeling conducting in conjunction with all proposed transactions. Additional responsibilities may include investment valuations and various fundraising and investor relationship projects.



Responsibilities


The Associate will be involved in all aspects of the deal process and key responsibilities will include:




  • Industry analysis and financial modeling conducting in conjunction with all proposed transactions

  • Evaluate business and industries as well as identify the economic attractiveness of investment opportunities

  • Lead due diligences processes

  • Investment valuations

  • Various ad hoc fundraising and investor relationship projects




Qualifications




  • Bachelors degree required

  • 2 years of prior experience in credit investing, M&A, restructuring, or leveraged finance

  • Direct Lending experience required

  • Highly ethical

  • Strong sense of accountability, responsiveness, and follow-through

  • Team oriented, with consistent drive to maximize value-add to team

  • Strong analytics

  • Consistent attention to details

  • Ability to handle projects with minimal training or oversight

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Highly adaptable, with flexibility on depth and breadth of role and responsibilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills




Benefits/Compensation



The compensation range for this role is specific to New York, and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.


The anticipated base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000.
