Responsibilities
Basic PurposeManages the reliability, efficiency, and overall appearance of all NV Energy properties. Performs cost effective planning and scheduling, evaluation of equipment and processes, and troubleshooting building systems. Supervises a team of technical employees to ensure that the facilities are both operating efficiently and provides a safe work environment for the employees and tenants. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages and oversees all facilities operating systems for company owned and leased facilities to provide efficient and uninterrupted 24x7 operations. Ensures all facilities comply with the latest codes and reflects a safe work environment. Schedules and monitors all compliance related inspections, retaining documentation as required. Oversees a department budget that maximizes financial potential in meeting the needs of the corporation, internal customers, and the assets. Facilitates economic strategies to ensure compliance within budgetary allowance. Balances budgeted financial resources utilized in the department operations to ensure targets are met. Identifies short- and long-range strategic goals and resource projections to meet the organizational needs of the department, the company facilities and its internal customers. Monitors progress, recommend improvements and report results. Implements processes that facilitate individual, departmental, and corporate benefits and improvements. Promotes a work environment that encourages excellence, fairness, training opportunities for technical expertise and employee growth to support the effort for continual improvement of both the staff and the facilities. Effectively communicates to all levels of the organization and customer contacts. Exhibits confidence and ensures integrity in the workplace. Promotes a work environment that ensures total customer satisfaction. Contacts the internal customers regularly through email, phone and meetings. Manages small to very large capital and expense projects, delivering completed projects within budget and expected timelines (20%). Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company. Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Essential Education, Skills, and EnvironmentEducation and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in engineering, construction management, facilities management or related field and five years of experience managing all aspects of the operations of a large, multi-site operation (minimum 250,000 sq.ft.) or equivalent work experience. Direct people management is required. Specialized Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated Demonstrated knowledge of:
Building interiors, building envelope & roof, mechanical systems, electrical, plumbing, landscape and snow removal, backup power systems, automated controls, code compliance and OSHA
The requests for remodels and relocations throughout the buildings.
The operational reliability and efficiencies of the facilities, including mission critical data centers.
Safety and operational issues which may occur on the company’s properties.
Demonstrated skills such as:
Interfaces with all levels in the organization in support of the planning and operating facilities.
Working relationships with critical outside contractors and suppliers for outsourced services.
Facilitating daily work assignments and requests through the support of the maintenance staff and outside contractors.
Leads process improvement efforts and documentation of procedures and workflows.
Project management of both Capital and Expense projects.
Equipment and Applications PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) experience preferred. Work Environment and Physical Demands General office environment, outdoor utility yard(s), mechanical room(s), rooftops and landscaped areas. Occasional use of ladders or lifts to provide supervisory access to rooftop or elevated areas. No special physical demands required.
Compensation
Annual Salary: $103,800 (Min) to $122,000 (Mid); Potential Safety Bonus 15%. The company reserves the right to determine the number of positions awarded for this requisition.
