In this role, you will serve more so as an editor role, rather than technical writer. All of the department's documentation will flow through this team for editing (audit methodologies, final reports, presentations, etc.) The most essential need is holding the responsibility for ensuring all materials are Section 508 compliant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Writes/edits reports, information and educational materials, presentations, and other communications as needed
Understands how to consistently cite authoritative sources
Understands compliance with the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998
Participates in peer reviews of project and organizational documentation, as required
Works with technical staff to present technical information and analyses in a logical, understandable manner targeted for the diverse audiences
Manages and maintains corporate style guide and standards
Develops and researches content of articles for press releases, newsletters, annual (and other) reports, and other internally generated publications including e-media
Works as a member of the business development team to compose and edit professionally presented, well-written, competitive, and compliant proposals
Evaluating and reviewing Program Integrity electronic materials/documents for 508 conformance under the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998.
Education and /or Skills and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree required (English or Journalism preferred)
Strong background in researching, writing, and concisely integrating specialized information.
At least 3-5 years of proven writing, editing, and publishing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Solid understanding of compliance with the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998 is required.
Understands how to consistently cite authoritative sources.
Experience with Visual Basic to apply macros preferred
Technical skills needed to align documents across different file types to ensure Section 508 compliance (i.e, Word to PDF)
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, review documents, or contract regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to apply basic mathematical functions.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Coordinates and prioritizes all requests to accommodate multiple project deadlines, shifts in requirements, and peak demand periods.
