Overview

Intelligent Waves is growing rapidly and has an outstanding new opportunity for a Knowledge Manager to work on an important technical program for a major DoD organization and the position is located in Reston, Virginia. This contract was initially awarded to us in 2006 and has continued to grow over several recompeted awards.

Location: This position is based in Reston, VA

Travel: None

Security Clearance: Must be a United States Citizen and hold a current TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

As a knowledge manager on our team, youll train and maintain front-end support for KM sites, make recommendations, and execute KM strategies, plans, processes, tools, assessments, and meeting management practices. You will assist with the development of KM roadmaps to improve the client's business operations and facilitate the sharing and leveraging of best business practices from the KM community. Additionally, youll contribute to functional expertise for the management of client deliverables, leverage industry best practices, and develop client-ready products, including technical guides, knowledge-based articles, user acceptance testing documentation, briefings, reports, and internal communications.

You will assist in aligning processes and technology to enable information sharing by analysts and organizations for analytic production, as well as use central and peripheral databases, content management, record management systems, and shape workflow and processes. You will research, organize, write, edit, and produce written content for use in a wide variety of formats including user guides, knowledge base articles, and stakeholder communications. Recommend overall organization and layout, editorial standards, and publication methods. Assist in identifying content to repurpose for multiple channels. Finally, you will be responsible for compiling reports on performance and usage metrics and future requirements for existing knowledge management capabilities.

Qualifications

Required:

• 3+ years of experience in a professional knowledge management work environment
• Experience with developing technical manuals, procedures, or user guides
• Experience with developing and maintaining SharePoint, Confluence, or Strapi, site collections
• Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite and KM fundamentals and tools
• Knowledge of KM principles, procedures, and processes in a DoD environment

Desired:

• Experience working alongside analysts, developers, and subject matter experts
• Experience working as a technical writer or editor in a technology or IT field
• Experience with developing, executing, or updating a content strategy
• Experience with Content Management Systems
• Knowledge of software applications
• Ability to pay strict attention to detail
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
