About the position



We are currently seeking an experienced Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join our growing team in The Woodlands, TX office. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of related experience and a desire to grow, collaborate, and innovate in a dynamic and technically challenging environment. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pipeline integrity management programs, conducting risk and threat assessments, performing field inspections, and managing project execution for both natural gas and hazardous liquid pipelines, following federal regulations such as 49 CFR 192 and 195 and state regulations such as the TRRC.


This position offers the opportunity to engage in a wide range of integrity-related activities, including managing inline inspection (ILI) tool runs, executing direct assessment methods such as External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA), Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (ICDA), and Stress Corrosion Cracking Direct Assessment (SCCDA), manage and conduct bell hole inspections, review NDE data for repair recommendations, perform pressure testing design and result review, and prepare detailed engineering reports and analyses to support compliance and integrity management initiatives.


Additionally, this role requires a solid understanding of risk modeling, data integration, and GIS-based tools to support threat analysis and pipeline safety evaluations in various geographic regions and regulatory classes. The successful candidate will also support pipeline coating condition assessments, manage anomaly investigations, and assist in mechanical integrity tasks.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare detailed technical reports, engineering assessments, and support documentation for regulatory compliance submissions.

  • Perform direct assessment methods (ECDA, ICDA, SCCDA) and lead bell hole inspections to validate indirect survey findings.

  • Perform inline inspection (ILI) tool run coordination, including vendor management, tool selection, run support, and post-run data analysis.

  • Oversee the execution of indirect survey methods (e.g., CIS, DCVG, ACVG) to identify potential external corrosion issues and establish remediation plans.

  • Analyze complex data sets from various sources (ILI, CIS, coating assessments) and provide clear and concise recommendations.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Integrity Management Programs (IMPs) for natural gas and hazardous liquid pipelines, in compliance with 49 CFR 192 and 195 regulations.

  • Conduct risk and threat assessments using qualitative and quantitative methodologies in alignment with ASME B31.8S and company-specific guidelines.

  • Plan and execute pressure testing programs, including hydrostatic testing, to confirm pipeline integrity and regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including field technicians, project managers, and regulatory personnel, to ensure consistent project delivery.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and client communications across multiple geographies.


Certifications/Licenses Preferred or Required:

  • NACE CP1/CP2 or NACE CIP certifications.

  • API certifications such as API 1169 (Pipeline Construction), API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspection), API 570 (Piping Inspection), and API 653 (Tank Inspection).

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.

  • Defect Evaluation certifications


Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong understanding of pipeline integrity regulations (49 CFR 192 and 195) and industry standards (ASME B31.8S, NACE, API).

  • Experience with inline inspection (ILI) tools and data interpretation.

  • Expertise in direct assessment methodologies and indirect survey techniques.

  • Familiarity with risk modeling, data integration, and GIS-based tools.

  • Knowledge of cathodic protection, implementation, and monitoring.

  • Ability to work well within a team environment, maintain a positive attitude, and demonstrate multi-tasking and project management skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work.


Preferred Skills:

  • Expert level of usage for MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Experience in performing detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and failure analysis.

  • Familiarity with pipeline rehabilitation and anomaly repair techniques.

Additional Information


Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Asset Integrity Engineer III with a salary range of $75,900.00 - $116,000.00 .
