We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician 2 in our Miramar, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the daily operations of maintenance of common and/or moderately complex repairs of equipment in Manufacturing within Operations.
Essential Functions
Capable of applying industry standards and procedures to implement, and document operational processes
Proficient use and knowledge of engineering tools
Perform small projects and/or sub-projects as part of a greater project under the direction of a supervisor or mentor and able to work in conjunction with service providers
Analyze opportunities for cost and quality improvements
Execute Lock Out/Tag Out of equipment
Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
Identify process/quality improvements and offer suggestions for improvement
Demonstrate ability to identify & fix problems within a given trade
Completes preventive maintenance to manufacturing equipment, fixtures, jigs, soldering irons, screw guns, test equipment, etc
Complete equipment changeovers to fullfill manufacturing goals
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
Order and mantain safety stock of Manchine, Repair, Operating supplies (MROs)
Coordinate between Planning, Purchasing, Production and Process Engineering
Serve as a mentor to less experienced Maintenance Technicians (Maintenance Level 1
This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including ASTM compliant shoes (with built-in toe caps) to be always worn for an entire shift to meet specified standards
Basic Qualifications
Associate's Degree in a technical related field OR a minimum of 2 years maintenance experience OR completion/certification of a qualified technical trade program AND a minimum of 1 year demonstrated experience
Successfully demonstrates knowledge of all skills from Level 1 plus the ability to trouble shoot mechanical/electrical machines and assemblies, operate within work order/PM database and process instructions, and parts warehousing & organization
Desired Qualifications
Technical School Certification in Electronics, Industrial or Maintenance Technology or related facilities degree
5+ years related experience
Experience with automated assembly, testing, and conveying equipment
PLC Programming experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
