Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a Product Manager who can lead the development and integration of server/embedded edge system products for cloud and data center infrastructure. This is a key product management role focused on server/storage product solutions where communication among remote teams and on-site product leadership for our development teams is critical to develop and enable operations to fulfill roadmap expectation. In addition to developing new top-of-the-line systems, product manager is expected to collaborate with marketing and sales departments to promote products and interact with customers directly to sell these products. As a product manager, you will use strong technical and communication skills towards product definition strategy for Supermicro's core product family including research into vertical-based customer solutions and creation of aggressive go-to market plan. Ultimately, Product Manager will become a core member of the Server Product Management team and engage in technical, product development, marketing, and pre/post-sales support activities.

  • Product Roadmap Development: Construct a detailed product roadmap for server and embedded edge system products, reflecting market needs and customer expectations, ensuring alignment with Supermicro's technological innovations.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate intensively with marketing, engineering, and business development teams to formulate a cohesive strategy that results in comprehensive server solutions. Foster partnerships that enhance product visibility and accessibility.

  • Technical Requirements Generation: Utilize your strong technical expertise to establish detailed product requirements that respond to evolving customer requisites, industry standards, and business initiatives within cloud and data center environments.

  • Customer Engagement: Interface with customers at multiple tiers, from senior executives to engineering teams, to effectively communicate Supermicro's capabilities, gather insights into their challenges, and tailor our product offerings to meet their needs.

  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and escalate critical issues to senior management and vendors, ensuring timely and effective resolution of product-related challenges.

  • Product Training and Support: Design and deliver comprehensive training sessions for internal teams and sales representatives while providing 3rd level customer support to resolve complex product inquiries for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Market Analysis and Competitive Insight: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify industry trends and competitive offerings, ensuring Supermicro remains at the forefront of technology and customer satisfaction.

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in system/server architecture, preferably in a product marketing or management role.
  • Proven track record in managing products throughout their lifecycle-from conception through development, launch, and end-of-life.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and data center infrastructure is essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are crucial, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, promote products, and incorporate feedback into product iterations.
  • Familiarity with industry trends and standards such as virtualization technologies, cloud computing, and IoT is highly advantageous.

Salary Range

$88,000 - $160,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
