As the Senior Director of Experience Design, you'll serve as an advocate for customers, a creative problem solver and an impactful leader as you work to meaningfully improve customer experiences with Best Buy. In this role, you'll work directly with the executive team as well as other officers and stakeholders at Best Buy to understand, synthesize and translate business priorities and strategies into meaningful customer and employee experiences. Additionally, you'll build the teams and define the processes needed to enable seamless experiences grounded in insights and data. You'll manage multiple experience design teams, leading 30-50 people.
This role is remote eligible, which means you would work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.
What you'll doLead an enterprise-wide strategy for experience designProvide experience design thought leadership and influence across the companyWork with business, product and technology leaders across the organization to understand market needs and visionPresent the work of the team to all levels of the organization in a way that clearly demonstrates the proposed customer experiencesIdentify needed skills and capabilities and work to fill as needed, including recruiting, hiring and trainingUnderstand funding mechanisms and multiple budgets to manage and build teams to meet needsDefine practices used by the team, including discovery process, human-centered design, conventions, patterns and feedback opportunitiesBasic qualifications10 years of experience as a practitioner with a background in experience design (e.g. UX Designer, Content Designer, Service Designer, Product Designer, Researcher or Strategist.)10 years of experience leading UX teams, or Design/IA/Copywriter teams7 years of experience in e-commerce development and optimizationCase studies of previous work experience that demonstrate advanced skill in experience design and leadershipPreferred qualificationsBachelor's Degree (4 yr) in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Information Architecture, Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Human Computer Interaction, Instructional or Graphic Design, related field or Equivalent Industry Experience.Previous experience leading design teams in the ecommerce space across apps and webWorking knowledge of experience design tools, design thinking facilitation techniques and methods to teach others these ways of workingPrevious experience working with technical product teams or retail operationsExtensive experience generating and applying customer insights, including quantitative and qualitative research and other customer signals from search, digital and social data
