Job Description:

Job Summary:



The Material Planning and Logistic Supervisor will coordinate, plan, and direct all activities related to Material Planning, Inventory, Shipping and Receiving along with ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity goals are created and met. They will utilize their extensive knowledge of products, order processing flow, initiating material movement, tracking production, and accounting of schedules in process. The Material Planning and Logistic Supervisor will routinely use the Pipeline Planning Tool to review inventory and develop a plan that incorporates the priority orders.



Responsibilities:



  • Lead Material Planning, Inventory, Shipping and Receiving teams.

  • Communicate with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

  • Ensure adequate materials are available to meet the requirements for each plan, based on the master production schedule and calculated by the Material Resource Planning (MRP) system while supporting inventory and turn goals.

  • Collect data to create and maintain planning reports and all associated planning logic in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for assigned product families.

  • Manage major projects within the warehouse for capital investments including Return on Investment (ROI) evaluation, specifying equipment, updating processes, monitoring installations, and train associates to ensure changes are seamless to our customers and achieve desired outcomes.

  • Hire, train, and supervise direct reports.

  • Support the Material Planning, Inventory, Shipping and Receiving with day-to-day operations.

  • Provide expertise in the logistics areas of ordering, in-bound, and out-bound materials.

  • Cycle count materials to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Ensure that logistics conventions comply with purchasing objectives and support conditions set by suppliers for procurement and packaging and by logistics partners for transport and services.

  • Collaborate with appropriate areas to plan work center capacity requirements based on the order profile (customer requirements) and to schedule/release customer orders into the appropriate work center.

  • Develop and implement solutions that focus on reducing lead time throughout the value stream and extended supply chain.

  • Manages and troubleshoots any discrepancies of supplied material with Vendor and End user.

  • Identify customer or vendor requirements for shipping and receiving.

  • Select appropriate carriers/truckers to meet operational requirements, both domestic and international, verify the necessary shipping documentation per DOT hazmat requirements is completed.

  • Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments.

  • Warranty deliveries on time with the customers.

  • Ensure all communications are legally correct and reflect ABS's policies and directives and programs.

  • Support new product introductions (phase-ins/phase-outs) and engineering/revision changes.

  • Develop and ensure a safety-first culture.

  • Promotes customer satisfaction (delivery, quality, cost) within operations.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

  • Adhere to federal and state regulations.

  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

  • Predictable and reliable attendance.




Position Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Logistics, Business, or other related fields.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant material planning and logistics experience.

  • Minimum of two (2) years leadership experience.

  • Minimum of one (1) year management experience preferred.

  • Experience with MRP and ERP systems desired, previous PLEX ERP system preferred.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing process and supply chain management.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.

  • Ability to deal with customers and suppliers tactfully and effectively in stressful situations and react appropriately.

  • Strong technical, communication, customer service, and computer skills.

  • Knowledge of quality management systems.

  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001, TS 16949, and ISO 14001.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Organizational skills (i.e., be methodical, organized, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at one time).
