Job Summary

A Senior Manager role in the Legal Risk & Governance office within the Cable Law Department. Specifically, the role will be on the Operations Compliance team, focusing on compliance policy implementation through the deployment of compliance tools, workflows and reporting. Leading a team of senior analysts, the Senior Manager will be responsible for learning the applicable business processes and the risk environment; gathering business requirements and use cases; defining, developing and deploying system solutions, workflows and compliance controls; and setting monitoring requirements.The role provides exposure to the entire Comcast Cable business and requires working cross-functionally with other departments across all levels of the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manages the implementation of compliance plans and controls in assigned operational areas with a significant degree of independence.
  • Works with subject-matter experts (SME) within the Law Department and in other departments to understand business processes and legal and regulatory requirements, assess compliance risk and operational needs, and develop corresponding compliance solutions, balancing proper controls with process streamlining and automation.
  • Defines requirements for compliance data collection and monitoring, working with the reporting and data analytics teams through the development life cycle.
  • Generates reports and analyzes trends from available dashboards, audits and other sources to identify issues and create escalations as needed.
  • Oversees the filing of regulatory reports to government agencies in assigned areas.
  • Leads regular sessions with business and legal stakeholders to review performance, discuss gap areas and enhancement opportunities, and establish action plans. Prepares materials for sessions and manages issue logs and action items, ensuring follow up.
  • Prepares presentations, background documents and reports for senior management reviews of performance in assigned areas.
  • Areas of responsibility will be varied and evolving to address emerging compliance risks. These may include policy controls (e.g., gifts & business entertainment, conflicts of interest, background checks), procurement and trade regulations (e.g., international trade controls, anti-bribery/anti-corruption), consumer protection (e.g., call and texting compliance, collections), cable system operations (e.g., emergency alerts system), and sustainability/environmental regulation.
  • Manages direct report(s) to support areas of responsibility.
  • Manages vendor relationships for systems used in areas of responsibility, including quarterly business reviews, product roadmaps, operational issue escalations, and contract renewals.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree or compliance certification preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years relevant work experience
  • 5+ years in compliance technology, system/workflow automation, operational risk analysis, management or technical consulting, or similar roles in regulated environments
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute complex program plans, delivering on time and to quality requirements, while driving multiple workstreams at the same time
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills and comfort with ambiguity
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including presentations and data analysis
  • Significant experience with workflow tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Workday, Zendesk, Bryter)
