The Associate Scientist will support the Discovery Services in contract research services to advance new pharmaceutical candidate testing. This position is primarily responsible for routine laboratory assays, mammalian tissue culture, and site equipment support.
Perform work in a laboratory setting, meeting the physical job requirements of a lab role
Conduct production assays employing molecular biology and other relevant methods
Maintain mammalian, bacterial, insect cell culture in a BSL2 laboratory, and adhere to cleanroom guidelines and aseptic technique, according to protocols
Generate data by performing lab assays in Biotherapeutic Services and other Panlabs units if required
Contribute to scientific community, and site research and development objectives
Support internal and external communication regarding handling and shipping of samples for Biotherapeutics
Receive all deliveries for Biotherapeutics, sort and distribute supplies, as required. Complete associated receiving documentation
Apply and demonstrate proficiency in electronic notebook and/or record-keeping
Perform data calculations and analysis using various electronic platforms, e.g. Excel, GraphPad Prism, etc. and provides QC review of data and project reports
Support the site's equipment management program
Complete required training and support 100% of Employee Health and Safety requirements
Demonstrate proficiency with, care and maintenance of department equipment and assets
Conduct responsible use of confidential IT and business systems, as required
Adhere to department SOP's and documentation requirements, maintain accurate data management and reporting. Create departmental DQs and SOP's as needed
Participate in departmental audits to comply with quality standards
Perform work in a laboratory with physical job requirements of the role
Prepare and manage inventory of buffers, reagents, media, semi-finished and finished goods
Support unit goals and demonstrate Eurofins' competencies, as defined in the job plan
Provide training to colleagues and external end users, when required
Work effectively in a team environment, under minimum direction, to achieve business key performance metrics of quality and delivery on time
Adjust work hours and provide cross-functional support to other departments, as required, and maintain accountability in delivering to client needs/timelines
Routinely communicate project updates to internal and external clients
Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. with at least 2 years of relevant experience
M.A. or M.S. with at least 1 year of relevant experience
Or an equivalent of education and experience
Experience with aseptic technique, cell culture (mammalian is a must; insect and bacterial a plus), cell-based assays
Authorization to work in the US with any employer, indefinitely, without sponsorship.
