Overall Responsibility
We're seeking a Senior Operations Manager with manufacturing and bakery experience for our Columbus, Ohio facility. The ideal candidate will join our energetic, growing company, focusing on servant leadership, quality, innovation, respect, and fun.
Core Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee all aspects of Plant Management, leading and supporting all facility areas.
Collaborate with the team to meet budget goals and ensure company objectives are understood by all managers.
Empower the team with resources and information to achieve company goals.
Execute the Operating Budget and achieve profit objectives.
Maintain high-level communication with management, employees, customers, and key suppliers to stay informed about industry and market trends.
Conduct weekly staff meetings to gather feedback on performance, operational issues, and goals; ensure all required meetings are consistently held and participate as needed.
Review monthly and year-to-date financial statements to evaluate company performance and determine necessary management actions to achieve goals.
Hire, train, motivate, and manage competent management personnel as needed.
Perform annual performance evaluations for all direct reports and ensure evaluation procedures are executed by all managers.
Ensure all company policies and procedures are documented, communicated clearly, and complied with.
Oversee production planning to ensure resources meet customer expectations and demands.
Take ultimate responsibility for employee safety, product quality, and food safety.
Ensure the reliability of team members to make and ship fresh bakery items daily, given the nature of our business.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements
Reports directly to the Director of Operations and interacts with all management team members.
Strong organization and communication skills required.
Education/Experience
Extensive knowledge of baking and bakery.
Minimum of 7-10 years of management experience in manufacturing (preferred).
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field (preferred).
Work Environment
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a manufacturing environment with minor smoke/smell from ovens and dryers. Contact with food allergens like wheat, egg, soy, milk, peanuts, and tree nuts. Occasionally required to enter walk-in cooler or freezer for short periods with temperatures between 0 to 40 degrees.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Stooping and bending may be below the knees, lifting and reaching may be above shoulders. Continuous standing and walking. Grasping, pushing, and pulling as needed.
