Transport Dynamics, a division of RBC Bearings, Inc., located in Santa Ana, CA, is the leading manufacturer of self-lubricated bearings for space, aerospace and industrial applications, is currently looking for Buyer individual to join our team!
Roles & Responsibilities:
Work closely with Materials Manager, team of other Buyer / Planners, Manufacturing Supervisors, Engineers, and Operators in areas of responsibility
Stock and non-stock order management in a manufacturing environment
Exercises a key role in accomplishing plant customer service and inventory objectives (Raw/WIP/Buffers/Bulk) through effective inventory management/materials planning for assigned commodities and operational schedules
Works closely with suppliers to make sure supplier on-time is achieved. Able to foresee potential roadblocks and provide recommendations, solutions, or notify manager.
Issues forecasts to selected vendors to assure reliable supply chain performance
Provides assistance to all raw material/WIP warehousing and shipping/receiving functions as required
Reschedule orders (push in and out)
Run MRP and create purchase orders as well as invoice resolution
Expedite orders with vendors/suppliers
React and manage quality issues with suppliers
Work closely with Quality Department to review and disposition non-confirming material
Interprets and applies company, policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards and U.S. government regulations, i.e., FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance.
Working understanding of AS9100 standards.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration preferably in Supply Chain/Operations Management highly preferred.
Minimum recent 2 years experience in an aerospace metal chip cutting environment.

Expertise in analyzing procurement costs, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or compliance.
Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions in supplier contracts, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
Proficiency in identifying and mitigating supply chain risks, including disruptions related to transportation, geopolitical events, or natural disasters.
Ability, willingness to travel up to 25% depending on business needs and engage with suppliers
A general understanding of Aerospace drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Physical & Environmental Factors:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud. Also, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or to hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Pay Range: $28.85 - 38.46 per hour
