SUMMARY
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Phase Separation for our Upstream Oil and Gas operations, you will focus on optimizing oil, gas, and water separation processes, ensuring efficient production and treatment of hydrocarbons. The SME will leverage their expertise in phase separation to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and design solutions for both field operations and R&D initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the company's go-to expert on all matters related to phase separation, including emulsion treatment, demulsifier application, produced water treatment, and crude oil dehydration.
Conduct site visits to troubleshoot process issues, optimize treatment programs, and implement solutions in collaboration with field personnel and clients.
Collaborate with R&D, product management, and lab teams to develop new chemical solutions and improve existing formulations for enhanced phase separation efficiency.
Provide recommendations for system designs, equipment selection, and chemical treatment programs for new and existing production facilities.
Lead training sessions and workshops to enhance the technical knowledge of internal teams and clients regarding phase separation challenges and solutions.
Analyze field data to evaluate process performance, identify trends, and generate detailed technical reports to recommend process improvements.
Partner with cross-functional teams including R&D, Technical Engineering, Product Line Management, and Sales to drive product innovations and support business development.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, specifically focusing on phase separation, emulsion treatment, and produced water management.
Proven track record in troubleshooting, designing, and optimizing phase separation systems in onshore and offshore environments.
Hands-on experience in implementing chemical treatment programs for oil-water separation, crude dehydration, and gas-liquid separation processes.
Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of phase separation principles, emulsion breaking, interfacial tension, and chemical demulsifiers.
Proficient in interpreting laboratory and field data to diagnose operational issues and recommend chemical and mechanical solutions.
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple field projects simultaneously.
Travel Requirements
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including visits to remote field locations and client sites.
Ability to work in various field environments, including harsh weather conditions and challenging terrains.
