The Collections Specialist I is responsible for ensuring that all assigned customer accounts are current and within their payment terms, working through discrepancies, and communicating effectively with internal and external contacts pertaining to accounts.
What the Candidate Will Do
Provide weekly account balance spreadsheet and any needed information to customer as well as operations team
Research short paid invoices at length utilizing multiple financial applications to identify billing and process discrepancies
Discuss errors/discrepancies with billing and operations departments to form corrective action plans
Notify internal departments of contractual collection/billing processes once identified
Liaison between assigned customers and internal departments to resolve billing issues and process conflicts
Ensure all work performed on customer's accounts are notated daily and updated in financial system for management to review if needed
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent
0-1 years of experience, Entry level
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in business to business collections a plus
Previous transportation/logistics office experience a plus
