Job Description:

Nemours is seeking a Senior Director, Culture and Talent to join our Nemours Children's Health team in either Wilmington, Delaware, Orlando, Florida or Jacksonville, Florida.

This is a hybrid position.

The Senior Director, Culture and Talent will be a key contributor to advancing the overall strategy, planning, design, and administration of all non-clinical learning, talent development, leadership development and associate engagement programs. The position will have direct oversight of two key service lines that directly contribute to creating the healthiest and most engaged workforce by building and maintaining a foundation of psychological safety and authenticity that strategically drives a culture of belonging and innovation. These foundational elements help to promote a learning culture, maximizes associate effectiveness, drives desired business outcomes, and creates a thriving and inclusive environment for all associates. It is a highly visible enterprise-wide leadership position that will be a key contributor to the strategy and driving the execution of learning, coaching and leadership development programs. The position reports directly to the AVP, Culture and Talent.

The Senior Director, Culture and Talent will leverage existing programs and create new programs that accentuate tenets of Nemours culture, promote associate engagement, and develop scalable tools to support broad change initiatives. The position will help design and implement leadership and physician development programs that provide the organization with strong leaders at frontline, mid-level, and executive levels. In partnership with enterprise leadership, this role will contribute to the success of organizational initiatives including but not limited to, succession planning, healthiest workforce, engagement strategy, and advancing the enterprise strategic plan. This is a highly collaborative role which requires building and maintaining successful relationships and partnerships both internally and externally to the organization.

Other responsibilities include training delivery, managing learning technologies, conducting needs analysis, evaluating learning impact, managing learning programs, coaching, knowledge management, change management, performance improvement, cultural audits, culture improvement, culture fortification, team and individual assessments, and advancing a learning organization.


  • Be a key leader in the development and execution of world class strategy for Culture and Talent. This leader will also ensure key measurements are aligned with organizational and strategic direction.
  • In partnership with the AVP of Culture and Talent and Talent Development and Engagement Manager, develop, implement, and manage Nemours associate engagement strategy and programs.
  • Design and execute new and legacy leadership development programming across the continuum of managers: new, experienced, senior, executive. Create a pipeline of associate development experiences to tie into overall business strategy and needs.
  • Contribute ideas and knowledge to source, curate, and develop learning solutions in areas related to associate development, leadership development, physician development, associate engagement, change management, culture improvement, and culture fortification.
  • Be a key driver and innovator to building highly effective and engaging learning experiences including blended solutions such as face-to-face and virtual, e-learning/multimedia, webinars, peer group activities, etc. Create collateral for programs to include visuals, activities, participant materials, leader's guides, discussion guides, etc.
  • Design and execute programing to identify, engage, develop and introduce leadership talent into the talent pipeline for internal career advancement opportunities.
  • Design, execute, and facilitate talent review and succession planning process in partnership with AVP, Culture and Talent and Chief People Officer.
  • Provide primary leadership and supervision for internal consultation, facilitation, and support of team effectiveness interventions including customized delivery of solutions to meet the needs of a complex, multifaceted health care system.
  • Consult with appropriate levels of management regarding the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of management training and development programs. Design, develop, and implement learning strategies that include solutions to address specific organizational gaps and development needs.
  • Provide change management expertise to leaders as required to lead large-scale, complex change initiatives. Support the planning, creation, and delivery of change materials based on stakeholder impacts and change execution plans. Design and deliver key messaging, leadership alignment, stakeholder assessments, change readiness assessments, and change impact assessments.
  • Develop credible relationships with enterprise leadership and key project stakeholders that will enable the collaboration, alignment, and influence required for overall success.
  • Provides direct leadership for the Engagement and Coaching functions within Culture and Talent.


Job Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Leadership Development, Organizational Development, Learning, Training, Adult Education, or related field is required. Doctorate Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of direct, hands-on experience in developing and delivering learning and leadership development programs (e.g. Competencies, Strategic Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Assessments and Surveys, Engagement, 360's) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years people management experience required.
  • ICF Certified Coach (or equivalent) in physician and executive paths preferred.
