How will you make an impact?
The Staff Manufacturing Engineer - is a key member of the Technical Sourcing Engineering (TSE) team responsible for the technical management of our Particle Optics, Mechanical and Electronics supply base. We are seeking an individual who can drive engineering support on new product lines. This role involves implementing risk mitigation efforts, cost savings initiatives, and product scale up. Additionally, they will be resolve quality issues, developing suppliers, and consolidating suppliers.
What will you do?
As part of the technical sourcing engineering team you will work closely with R&D, product development, quality, procurement and commodity managers to align the global sourcing strategy and supply base to drive cost reduction, manufacturing scale up, resolves supplier quality issues.
Primary focus will be on laser, optical, electromechanical components, electromechanical assemblies, motors, power management, controls and OEM assemblies.
Focus will be on instruments and equipment in BID Division
Travel will be up to 20% global.
How will you get here?
EDUCATION
Bachelor's or Master's in Optical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
EXPERIENCE
BS with 8+ years experience, or, MS with 6+ years' experience: hands on product design, product development, and manufacturing experience
Experience in either: Electromechanical assembly design, power management design, systems design, PCBA design or controls design Strong project management skills
Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, contract manufacturers, and design firms
Value engineering, process development, should-cost modeling experience, DFA/DFM/DFx experience
Relevant experience managing electromechanical suppliers and contract manufacturers
Experience dealing with mechanical devices that are regulated by third party agencies such as FDA, NSF, CSA, UL, ISO 13485 standard and others in the medical products industry
Proficiency in CAD Design software, SolidWorks, Pro/e, or equivalent
Preferred knowledge of phase gate development processes and methodologies across multiple fields and subject matters.
Medical devices experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Experience with PCR, Protein and Cell Analysis and Sample Preparation instruments and equipment a plus
Ability to negotiate cost and build should cost models for sourced materials
Independence: Can work without direct supervision under ambiguous demands within a global organization
Advanced technical writing skills to produce reports and documents
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for this role ranges from $103,100-$154,700 annualized. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Colorado is $103,100.00-$154,700.00.
