About the job:
The Medical Records Technician is to facilitate the maintenance of the participant's medical record, through gathering and uploading medical records to the electronic medical record (EMR), fulfilling records requests, entering admissions/discharges, providing information to team members, tracking utilization of ER visits, hospital admissions and SNF/ALF admissions. Prioritizes, organizes and coordinates activities to facilitate smooth, efficient program operations. Manages and performs audits, clerical and non-nursing administrative tasks for the program when needed. Acts as a representative of the organization by demonstrating excellent customer service.

Required:
Must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.
Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
CNA/LPN or completion of a medical transcription course preferred.
Prior experience working with an electronic medical record is preferred
Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies. Excellent listening and communication skills.
Essentials:
Record medical and administrative information in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures
Maintain and update roster of participants for assigned Center
Receives, places, and transfers calls in an efficient a courteous manner
Putting calls and/or faxing clarifications on new enrollments to all vendors
Coordinates participant activities/appointments
In coordination with enrollment team, review all new enrollments for completion of necessary medical and administrative records.
Coordinates EMR census; contacts vendors; closes out EMR records;
Greets, directs, communicates and assists participants, family members, visitors and personnel in a friendly, courteous manner.
