Rehabilitation Services Supervisor, Full-Time, First Shift

UC Health is hiring a Full-Time Rehab Services Supervisor for the rehabilitation services department at West Chester Hospital.

They will supervise staff and daily clinic operations to assure quality and appropriateness of treatment and efficient use of resources. Assist with program development, staff support, and performance improvement process for specific discipline as well as the Rehabilitation Department as a whole. Provide appropriate evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of treatment programs upon physician referral, in accordance with professional practice guidelines, and the policies and procedures of UC Health/site.

Unit Details:


  • 15 years serving the West Chester and Butler County community.
  • 216 licensed beds
  • Level III trauma center

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree - Graduate of APTA approved school of Physical Therapy or AOTA approved school of Occupational Therapy or ASHA approved school of Speech Language Pathology
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Ohio
  • CPR certified.
  • Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience

  • Plan appropriately for smooth operation of department Assess and adjust staffing levels to ensure provision of quality patient care Communicate with staff in a timely and effective manner to inform them of pertinent information and programmatic changes Address staff issues and concerns, and assist them with problem solving regarding department operations and job functions Assist with the development of policies and procedures to maintain smooth operation of department Provide productivity information for staff to director on a monthly bases, or as requested
  • Complete operating budget in conjunction with Director and submit to Vice President for review Review department budget and statistical information. Make adjustments to staffing, supplies, etc., as necessary Approve time off for continuing education requests.
  • Assist with the development of appropriate department goals, monitors and data collection Analyze data and develop action plan based on results, review information with Director prior to implementation of new policies and procedures Work with Senior therapist on projects that the director identifies as process improvement opportunities. Participate in hiring and orientation process for new associates Provide consistent, objective and constructive feedback to associates regarding job performance, including input on associate's 90-day and annual performance appraisal Facilitate learning opportunities through clinical competencies Utilize the PRIIDE Values with reward and recognition to encourage optimal job performance from associates
  • Upon receipt of physician referral selects appropriate assessment tools to evaluation patient based on diagnosis and subjective complaints Develops an individualized treatment program consistent with patient diagnosis, status and functional goals Reviews treatment plan with supportive personnel, other disciplines, and case management Establishes goals and plan of care that include realistic and measurable goals in relation to patient goals, diagnosis, prognosis, learning ability of patient/care giver, physical/mental status, and anticipated lifestyle Evaluate for needed equipment and follow up as necessary
  • Implements treatment plan in collaboration with the treatment team Reassesses objective measurements per department policy and adjusts treatment plan and goals as necessary based on patient's progress and response to treatment Adheres to department safety standards, policies and procedures
  • Completes all required documentation according to UC Health, department, and regulatory standards and guidelines Assures smooth transition for patients between levels of care by documenting D/C recommendations, making recommendations for equipment needs as appropriate, providing instruction and training in safety and home exercise programs prior to discharge Attains productivity benchmark as established at beginning of fiscal year
  • Considers special needs of various population and age groups of patients and/or caregivers in assessment, treatment, and program planning. Modifies as needed Participates in departmental educational opportunities to increase population and age specific skills
  • Participates in department performance improvement initiatives and is able to articulate outcomes and improvements Participates in educational in services/opportunities to advance clinical knowledge/competencies Utilizes resources effectively to assure evidence-based practice in patient care Maintains a positive working atmosphere and professional image Completes mandatory education department/state requirements Active participation in mentoring of fellow associates and orientation of new associates and students as indicated.
