Job Overview:
The Lease Compression Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions, technical expertise, and project management in the field. This position combines hands-on technical proficiency with strategic market research, sales support, and customer relationship management to enhance customer satisfaction and drive market share growth. As a pivotal resource, the engineer addresses complex challenges, identifies new opportunities, and contributes to the success of field service and product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in gas compression technology, system design, and troubleshooting, with the ability to thrive in dynamic field environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Lease Compression Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Field Operations:
Conduct system performance analysis, root cause diagnosis, and resolution for natural gas compression systems.
Provide engineering support for inspections, maintenance, and emergency repairs.
Develop and implement optimization strategies to enhance compressor efficiency and reliability.
System Design and Integration:
Assist in designing and integrating new natural gas compressor systems into operational environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation and adherence to engineering standards.
Conduct validation testing and performance analysis for new installations.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety protocols, industry regulations, and company guidelines.
Conduct engineering risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Promote and model a culture of safety and compliance.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare detailed engineering reports on system performance, including root cause analyses and recommendations.
Maintain accurate records of design modifications, maintenance activities, and field testing.
Document and standardize technical processes for continuous improvement.
Training and Knowledge Sharing:
Develop training materials and provide technical guidance to field technicians and operators.
Serve as a mentor to less experienced team members, fostering knowledge transfer and professional development.
Technical Support and Customer Management:
Provide advanced engineering support for product installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Act as the technical liaison for customers, resolving escalated issues and fostering strong partnerships.
Market Research and Analysis:
Conduct market and industry research to identify trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs.
Analyze engineering and sales data, offering insights to improve market penetration and product offerings.
Technical Expertise and Innovation:
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in reciprocating compression technology.
Lead technical innovation projects to enhance product performance and reliability.
Support sales teams with engineering insights and tools to improve client engagement.
Physical and Logistical Requirements:
Travel extensively and work in various environments, including outdoor field locations.
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
Availability for on-call duty and occasional weekend work.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience with reciprocating compression systems.
Strong understanding of natural gas compression technology, system design, and troubleshooting.
Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects and deliver results.
Proficiency in engineering analysis tools, reporting software, and technical documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
