The Accounts Receivable Associate II is responsible for applying payments to customer accounts accurately and efficiently. This position manually reviews all remittances received from customers and matches the payments to the invoices. The person in this role creates deductions and prepares keyed checks for imaging. This role includes research, verification, and collaboration with internal teams to identify and effectively implement operational enhancements. Additionally, the role involves training, assisting, and working in partnership with other accounts receivable associates daily.
Accurately and efficiently applies payments received via Lockbox, ACH/EFT and reconciles 820 EDI cash application for customers with complexity levels 2 to 3 on a daily basis.
Processes checks received via daily mail. Prepares, deposits, and processes them for input.
Creates deductions, attaches all supporting documentation, and forwards to the Deductions Analysts for further processing.
Deposits and maintains the spreadsheet of miscellaneous cash receipts and checks.
Trains and assists Accounts Receivable Associates as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Maintains the cash application exceptions manual, ensuring it is up to date by incorporating recommended changes as needed.
Prepares documents for imaging.
Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
Three years of accounts receivable experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and 10-key entry
Good math aptitude
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
