  • North Shore Physicians Group

  • Pentucket Medical Associates

This work stems from Mass General Brigham's unified system strategy to bring high-quality health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. MGBMG provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, behavioral and mental health, specialty care, outpatient surgery, endoscopy, imaging, lab services, infusion, and urgent care both digitally and in person in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Our Team

Urgent care, sometimes known as walk-in care, fast care, or express care, is a convenient option for patients who require timely medical care, but the situation is not an emergency. We treat adults and children ages 6 months and older and provide care for a wide range of illnesses and injuries, including allergies, asthma, coughs, bronchitis, colds, flu, COVID-19, fever, headache, broken bones, sprains and strains, eye and ear infections, rashes, cuts, sexually transmitted infections, stomach pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. Because patients typically come to us when they aren't feeling their best, it is incredibly important to us that our staff members strive to provide the compassion and emotional support our patients need.

Our Fast Care/Urgent Care Center is located at 541 Main St, South Weymouth. Our center is staffed Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Sundays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time, 36-hour Medical Assistant to join our team! Since Urgent Care is a 7-day-per-week operation, the schedule for this role will include 12-hour weekday shifts, coverage every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday), as well as some holidays.

As true clinical support partners to our providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the care team. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office

  • Assisting during office visits (rooming/vitals, examinations, procedures, immunizations, and treatments as directed)

  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management (administrative support, phone calls, test results, prior authorizations, coordination of care, etc.)

  • Maintaining neat, clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms and patient care areas

  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner consistent with their needs.

We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned departments; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the building during orientation (for training/precepting purposes) or during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances (for cross-coverage purposes).

Qualifications

Qualifications

When hiring, we look for candidates who possess not only relevant qualifications, skills, and competencies, but also positive attitudes, empathy, and genuine passion for the work.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Completion of a formal medical assistant training program required

  • CPR certification from a program approved by the American Heart Association required

  • National Medical Assistant certification preferred

  • Clinical support experience, specifically in an urgent care setting, preferred
