WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Corporate Risk Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's risk management policies, both domestically and internationally, and procedures to protect assets, improve operational efficiency, and ensure business continuity. This individual will collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks related to financial, operational, regulatory, reputational, and strategic concerns. The role requires a deep understanding of risk management on a global scale, with demonstrated international experience to address cross-border risks, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
Partners with insurers and brokers to review and confirm appropriate policy coverage levels.
Assess and offer recommendations on policy selection, including but not limited to: Property, Casualty, General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Directors and Officers, and Cyber-risk policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate risk management practices into daily operations.
Manages insurance procurement, develops and implements risk management and compliance policies and manages claims and litigation.
Act as the primary liaison between the company and external partners, such as insurers, brokers, regulators, underwriters, auditors. and other administrators.
Partners with all departments regarding incident reports and claims or losses. Ensure the company complies with all applicable regulations and industry standards.
Prepare management reports and present findings to executive leadership and the board of directors.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and advise on necessary adjustments to risk management processes.
Provides timely notification of claims to insurance carriers.
Manages all phases of the claims process from intake and investigation through litigation, settlement, and/or trial, and consults and/or participates in negotiations, conferences and mediations with adjusting companies, outside legal counsel, staff, claimants, and other involved parties.
Communicate risk-related issues, updates, and action plans to relevant stakeholders clearly and concisely.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves:
5+ years in Risk Management at a corporate level.
Demonstrated international experience, including knowledge of cross-border regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices.
Experience in identifying, assessing and mitigating various types of risks. Development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to work cross-functionally and drive alignment on risk-related initiatives.
Highly organized, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Nice-To-Haves:
Bachelor's degree in health and safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required.
Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager, Certified Risk Professional, or Chartered Financial Analyst) are a plus.
