Job Description:
SUMMARY:
The Biotechnology Master's Program is seeking a self-starter and visionary leader to support program growth, and maintain a robust cutting-edge, competitive academic program. The Associate Program Director (Biotechnology Master's Program) contributes directly to the curriculum and co-curriculum of the Biotechnology Master's Program through teaching, formal academic advising, and programming, as well as the placement of students in faculty research laboratories.
With guidance from the Program Director, the Associate Program Director develops and implements student marketing, recruitment, and admissions strategies. This involves collaborating with the School of Professional Studies to create an approach to attract prospective students through career fairs and institution visits, and by leveraging social media platforms. The Associate Program Director will also market the program internally (among current students and faculty) to grow the 5th-year master's program. As a key member in the administration of the Biotechnology Master's Program, the Associate Program Director leads the admissions committee which involves helping to develop and uphold holistic review rubrics and reviewing applications, making recommendations for admissions, and communicating with prospective and accepted students through email, phone calls, and virtual meetings to encourage matriculation. The incumbent will also develop a strategy for reviewing financial aid reports and suggest support levels for admitted students.
Furthermore, the Associate Program Director plays a significant role in curriculum and co-curricular program review and development. This includes developing a strategy to facilitate student thesis placement, identifying new research opportunities for students, reviewing the Program's curriculum and student outcomes, and developing new programming for student success. The Associate Program Director works with student groups to develop and implement social activities and events to foster a sense of student belonging.
