The Integrated Oncology Service at The Ohio State University is offering a ACVS Fellowship in Surgical Oncology. The training program is designed for veterinarians who have completed a 3-year ACVS approved residency in small animal surgery. The 52-week appointment will consist of 42 weeks of clinic duties, with up to 8 weeks off to study for ACVS boards and 2 weeks for out rotations in areas of surgical oncology.
Essential Functions
Patient Care: Provide veterinary care to patients under the supervision of attending faculty members; Communicate with clients and referring Veterinarians (RDVM); ensure medical records are up to date and accurate; Receive and respond to consultation phone calls from RDVM.
Non-Essential Functions
Participate in specialty service meetings and Professional Development Seminars; participate and present at journal/book clubs, rounds, and case conferences; conduct clinical and basic research projects and prepare manuscript(s) for presentation and publication.
Required Qualifications
DVM or equivalent education is required
Desired Qualifications
Prior to position start will have completed a surgery residency
Working Conditions
Predominant work is in the clinic, so there may be possible exposure to animal dander and zoonotic diseases.
