The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Supply Chain Department is seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator to oversee supply chain operations in the Main Operating Room/Sterile Core. Provide administrative supervision and management of staff. Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved. Serve as a Supply Chain Department liaison to supply users providing service and support to meet needs and requests. Serve as subject matter expert on electronic supply chain tools including PeopleSoft, Omnicell, EPIC. Duties as assigned.
Duties will include:
Coordinate the day-to-day operation of a retail or non-retail operation and/or may assist college/divisions, departments and units in evaluation, negotiation and procurement of goods and services. Responsibilities may include sales, controllable expenses, cash management, and merchandising, identification of supply options, inventory control, loss prevention and store appearance. Make recommendations on what and where to buy product and/or service.
Perform product research and utilization analysis. Prepare product or equipment specifications. Make recommendations and procure product or service and prepare product or equipment specifications. Assist with the implementation of policies. Monitor contracts. Support product negotiations, contract pricing, and terms and conditions within established guidelines on behalf of unit, dept. and/or organization.
Oversee inventory controls; determine reorder amounts. Manage merchandise assortment and new production information. Analyze sales trends and make recommendations to optimize sales utilizing merchandising strategies.
Interact with vendors/suppliers to determine product selection and negotiate terms of the purchase. Resolve customer concerns.
Assess and enhance production software support for inventory management.
Determine inventory investments; administer the budget, recommend operational policies and procedures. May assist in budget development and provide projects and recommendations.
May provide functional and/or administrative supervision of staff. Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved.

Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
1-3 years of related supply chain experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of University Purchasing and Procurement.
Knowledge and/or experience with PeopleSoft, Epic, Omnicell or purchase requisitions.
Ability to effectively multi-task, keeping multiple initiatives moving forward simultaneously.
Knowledge of supply chain management and operational improvement in a hospital setting.
Experience with gathering end user requirements and translating them into technical plans and milestones.
