Job Description:

Vertiv is hiring a Sourcing Lead, Procurement in Anderson, SC to engage with the Integrated Solution Project Teams which consist of Offering Management, Pre-Sales Engineering, Solution Architects, Product Engineering, Project and Site Managers, and Commodity Management. This person will develop and manage supply chain execution from project award thru execution phase for supplied and/or 3rd party buyout equipment and services for all Integrated Module Solutions. Examples of buyout equipment include low volume highly specified modular structures, transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, chiller solutions, etc. Services may include module fabrication/integration supplier, Engineer consulting services, general contractors/trades etc. This position collaborates with Engineering and Americas Regional Commodity Managers responsible for standard direct material commodities to ensure spend leverage for Vertiv. Principle area of responsibility is IMS Procurement for Americas with a focus on Delaware Engineering and Production. The Sourcing Lead is responsible for execution of project materials and services by project team from initial design to final commissioning at customer site. This position is responsible for project cost vs. budget analysis, sourcing analysis, developing sourcing plans in conjunction with Commodity Management, and maintaining system parameters relative to suppliers and the parts they supply. This position will manage P.O. contract execution of the agreed upon terms with the selected suppliers including technical compliance, price and terms, and coordination with Accounts payable for payments at milestone/progress achievement and to suppliers upon work completion. Sourcing Lead may be called upon for Continuous Improvement efforts around business process, as well as key systems implementation efforts at Vertiv facilities. Position will help manage our Preferred Supply Base specific to IMS line of business, including development efforts within low-cost countries such as Mexico.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary role to program manages supply chain execution from PO placement to final delivery of goods and services.
  • Coordinate with Commodity Managers and Engineering key requirements for supplier evaluation.
    • Establish and support localized sourcing including parts and services consistent with Sourcing Strategies.
    • Prepares and transmits requests for quotes for items to be purchased via telephone, fax and mail.

  • Participate in cross functional teams from execution phase meetings and drive collaboration with Category Management for standard or buyout direct material needs.
    • Coordinate with Logistics to ensure product is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Coordinate with Project Manager, Finance/Accounts Payable to effectively manage purchase orders to completion and final payment to suppliers.
  • Match supplier invoicing to P.O. and proper receipt by Project Management; and help validate for payment.
  • Ensure that Vertiv standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with the procurement and delivery of all parts.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with key staff of all supply chain departments (e.g. Materials, Procurement and Operations, Offering Management, Engineering, Services).
  • Help manage project master files for Team. (Project execution).
  • Monthly review of open P.O. file for IMS required actions.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BSWell-developed interpersonal skills
  • CPM, CPIM, or APICS/ASME certification is preferred.
  • Supply Chain Management, in purchasing and/or assembly manufacturing; project management; Supplier Development; project management; working with supplier invoicing issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven success in program managing multiple suppliers in a project setting.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Specific knowledge and experience with various direct materials and indirect commodities.
  • Successful use of analytical and decision-making tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and establish business relationships with key internal customers and team members.
  • Leadership skills in transformational, growth industries.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong proficiency in all MS Office packages, Oracle, SAP or other related ERP databases.
