Purpose of Job:
Accurately and efficiently complete assigned tasks using a variety of equipment including RF barcode scanning devices, material handling equipment such as manual pallet jacks, stand-up and sit-down forklifts, WMS tools, and other shipping applications. Depending on location, may back-up non-CDL delivery drivers.
Job Components:
Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
Handle all product per the warehouse standards (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
Recondition and refurbish used batteries
Properly wrap and tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship)
Load and unload trucks safely
Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies
General warehousing duties (such as restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas)
Interact professionally with all stakeholders including team members, managers and customers.
Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by management, including assisting customers and serving as back-up for non-CDL delivery drivers
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
High school graduate (or equivalent)
Able to read, write and compute basic math
Excellent communication skills required
Minimum of one year experience in warehouse operations - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine.
Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.
Ability to multi-task, quickly transitioning from one function/task to the next.
Demonstrates good organizational skills and can prioritize tasks
Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Approaches tasks with a sense of urgency
Must work effectively in a team environment
Able to work overtime if requested.
Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
Depending on the location, must have and maintain a valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. DOT medical card may be required.
Scope Data:
Works under general supervision and guidance
Accountable for individual accuracy.
Shared responsibility for process flow of 1.0 - 13.0 million pieces shipped per year out of the warehouse
Work Environment:
Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
Frequent, repetitive lifting up to 75 lbs.
Continuous standing or walking
Use of PPE required (steel toe boots, safety glasses, protective gloves, etc.)
