Location:



The Senior Trade Compliance Expert United States is a remote position within the United State with preferred location in Philadelphia, PA. Domestic and international travel is required to support business needs.



Your Role:



As an Expert in Trade Compliance within our Surface Solutions business unit, you will play a vital role in establishing and maintaining trade compliance expertise across the United States of America and globally. You will collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to ensure seamless customs clearance processes, engage with customers and authorities, and manage compliance with trade regulations, including HS Code classification, embargoes, and Free Trade Agreements. You will oversee customs reporting obligations, handle sanctioned party lists, and ensure adherence to dual-use regulations and narcotics controls. Additionally, you will conduct training on government laws and regulations, and develop standard operating procedures. You will also monitor regulatory changes, providing guidance to stakeholders and ensuring compliance across the organization.



Who You Are




Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics, Natural sciences, Business or a related field. Related work experience may be considered in lieu of education.

  • 5+ years' experience in trade compliance in a chemical or similar industry, within the United States and other global regions

  • Experience with SAP GTS and/or data management systems.

  • 10% domestic and international travel required to meet business needs.




Preferred Qualifications:



  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and HS Code classification

  • Proven ability to interact effectively with authorities and external service providers.

  • Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to convey complex regulations clearly.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and adapt to changes.
