Overview



POSITION OVERVIEW:



Responsible for inspecting and testing products and raw materials to ensure they meet production standards and calibrating as necessary.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. Represents a summary of the range of duties, tasks, and responsibilities.   • Utilize inspection standard operating procedures and blueprint and engineering drawings to perform quality inspections on finished products, subassemblies, and raw material.

  • Utilize good technical and analytical skills, have a strong understanding of inspection techniques to assure quality standards are maintained.

  • Utilize various measuring equipment and collect data to determine component acceptance.

  • Interface with Engineering, Quality, and Production Teammates to communicate quality standards and address issues in a timely manner.

  • Assist with devising dimensional gauging set-ups, perform part layout inspection and assist in establishing part inspection procedures

  • Report possible nonconforming material

  • Discuss with or refer major or critical inspection problems or decisions to lead person or supervisor for disposition

  • Cross train on the inspection of different products


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATION: Intended to outline the minimum qualifications necessary for entry into the position/class and do not necessarily convey the qualifications of incumbents within the position/classification. The additional requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, the applicable candidate must be a team player.

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1+ years in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing inspection experience.

  • Must be fluent in English; read, write and speak. Ability to interpret and implement procedures, communicate via e-mail and write basic reports. Ability to speak effectively with customers, associates in various organizational levels. Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective intra and inter-departmental relationships at all levels.

  • Basic math to include additional, subtraction, division and decimals.

  • Basic computer data input skills, basic to intermediate excel experience.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and able to make decisions regarding products quality. Attention to detail.

  • Technical skills and ability to understand blueprints, quality standards documents, and manuals.

  • Experience with and use of precision testing equipment and tools and gauging such as torque measuring, calibration equipment, micrometers, height gauges, calipers, indicators, comparators etc.

  • Ability to record and maintain test/calibration records

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and adjust in a fast-paced work environment, make timely decisions, focus on details with attention to accuracy and deadlines in a manufacturing environment.

  • Highly motivated, high energy with the ability to both works independently and with the team

  • Very strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent Analytical Skills

  • Ability to effectively train other associates regarding quality standards.


Physical Demands/Work Environment



  • Manufacturing / machine shop facility

  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment to include reinforced toe shoes and safety glasses.

  • Compliance with all safety directives
